Tingling Sensation In Hands, Fingers. Have Osteoarthritis. Cause?
I am an 81 year old female in reasonable good health. Have osteoarthritis in left knee and hand. Three days ago I felt tingling sensation in both hands and fingers when I sat on the toilet (to urinate-was not contipated). What do you think causes this problem that stopped after I left the bathroom? Has happened twice since under same conditions.Thank you.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vidya KR's Response
Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
Pressure over nerve for some time causes tingling sensation which is normal, need not to worry for that. If your symptom persists or increases in severity that needs to be evaluated further. Since you had only two episodes of symptoms most probably due to pressure over nerve. Try to keep your legs and arms freely in bathroom, keep changing position, it helps to reduce pressure over nerve.
Hope this helps you.
Regards
