To Whom This May Concern, I Saw This Sight And

To whom this may concern,

I saw this sight and thought I’d give it a go as I’ve been to my local GP and they’ve done nothing to help. I don’t want to keep going back as I feel they think I’m lying or just complaining so I thought I’d try here...

It’s going to be a bit of a long email as I want to make sure I don’t miss any details and that you know my back story so you can understand my situation. So apologies for the essay.

I’ve been feeling really unwell for a while and I’m not sure if it’s my job, a bunch of small issues, both together or something bigger?

Stomach pain and sickness:
Firstly, for the past 5 years plus, I’ve had really bad stomach pains after I eat and for a few hours after. Most of the time I’m sick in my mouth about 15mins to about 1hr after eating. occasionally i’ll Actually be sick, but that’s only if I let it out or push it. I know this is disgusting, but I usually just swallow what little comes back up. Then when it passes through and I get diarrhoea, which for details sake it’s normally a green colour. Annoyingly I’ve had diarrhoea constantly for the past 2 years. It horrible and just not nice to have to live with. I went to the GP and they said I have IBS and that I should just cut out the foods that cause it and that’s all they can do...
So I did want they suggested and I noticed the 2 food groups that caused pain and sickness is Dairy and Wheat. So I cut this out of my diet, individually and together and it worked a little bit but I still get pains and sickness.
My stomach completely bloats and it’s very painful on occasion were I end up crying and unable to move.
I went back to my GP and they gave me a blood test. When I got the results they said, I’m intolerant to dairy and that on the blood test it said something about wheat or gluten but they said it in passing and I’m not quite sure which one they said....

Tiredness:
On top of that, I’m constantly feeling tired and I can easily sleep 12+hrs. This is has been happening for about 8 months or so now. It’s hard to get up sometimes it gives me a headache. However, I’m an air hostess/cabin crew/flight attendant and I’m not sure if it’s that or whether it’s just making things worse. But I have been off for 2 weeks recently and nothing has changed in terms of stomach bloating or feeling tired all the time and I’m still sleeping for long periods of time and then getting exhausted during the day were I could easily have a sleep again.
This has made my mood a little bit irritable and it’s unfair on the people around me and I can’t help it.

PCOS:
I have mild PCOS which my doctor knows about but I haven’t consulted them in about 3 years as there’s nothing they can do about it. But from January 2017 up until February 2018 I didn’t have a period at all. I stopped taking the pill around November 2016 as it gave me mood swings and I did like it. I’m not sure if that’s the reason behind me not having a period for over a year. Over these past 3 months I’ve had a period February and March and that’s it. This isn’t anything I’m concerned about and I know you’ll just suggest me to go back on the pill and try another brand, but it leads me onto my last symptom/concern and I thought you having this knowledge might help.

Weight:
A few years ago I lost 2 and a half stone due to dieting and exercising frequently. The weight came of easily and stayed mostly off. However, every since I got my job just over 2 years ago I’ve gained all my weight back if not a little bigger and for the past 4 months I’ve tried religiously to loose the weight. But nothing happening and I’m not loosing any weight but gaining it instead. Now, I’ve not been going on the scales at all as I’m too scared too and it’ll depress me. However, I’ve been using a measuring tap as my way of seeing if I’ve lost weight. For the past 3 months I’ve worked out about the same as I did the first time I lost weight about 5/6x a week for about 40mins-1.5hrs. However, my diet has been different. I’ve been avoiding dairy and gluten and not eating bad things. (Which in theory is healthier than the last time I lost weight and thus I should be loosing it now) I have been eating 3 meals a day and getting all my daily nutrition through other means. But my weight is still going up instead of down. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong?? I’m not sure if it’s my job? If it’s my PCOS? If it’s my stomach and food problem? Something else? or it all together?
My family does have a history of thyroid problems which concerns me and I haven’t gone to the GP about it as I don’t want them to think I’m being silly and just complaining about something silly.

I know there’s a lot of information to process and the email is very long but I hope I’ve given you enough information to help you.
I’m hoping you could help me with my problems and maybe/hopefully give me an idea as to what’s wrong? Whether any of it’s linked? If I need to be concerned about anything? And if there’s anything you can maybe suggest me to say or ask my GP to do. As I want to control and sort out both my stomach and sickness, my tiredness and my weight problem.

Thank you so much for reading and for your help.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Many thanks

Your gratefully,
Johanna
