Toddler Getting Teeth, Having Space Between The Teeth And Not In The Same Line. Is There Anything I Could Do About It?

Hi, My 1 year old daughter has got 5 teeth (3 above and 2 at the bottom); bottom teeth are fine, however, there is little space between the two top teeth and the third one is not in the same line as the other two (its a bit off).....4th one which is coming, seems to be a bit off the line too. Is there anything I could do about it? Thanks!

Hi,
Thank you for your query,
Nothing to worry the teething will happen like this.
As the age grows the remaining teeth will erupt and the space between the teeth will decrease.
Nothing to worry about the space and line of teeth at this point.
They get into alignment as the complete dentition will occur.
Nothing is required at present , but discuss with your Pediatrician regarding this issue in your child next well child visit.
Hope I have answered your query.

Dentist Dr. Bindiya Bhaskar's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Your child is in the mixed dentition stage now.

The malaligned eruption of teeth usually occurs at this stage.

Once the entire permanent teeth erupts into oral cavity, teeth will get aligned properly.

If further malocclusion occurs, please do visit an orthodontist and get further treatment done.

Take care.

Dentist Dr. Yogesh Tripathi's  Response
hello
your child is developing deciduous tooth which normally grow upto age 2-3 years and since size of these teeth are comparatively smaller hence spacing
dont worry once the permanent teeth apear these things will go
however what i will advise is that visit your dentist when your child is around 10-12 years age because by then most of his permanent teeth will erupt and if at that time the teeth are malaligned ....your dentist may start with the orthodontic treatment
remember once all the permanent teeth erupt , the sooner you start the treatment , the better are the results
hope this helps

Dentist Dr. Qazi Ammara's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

Your child is in mixed dentition stage so malaligment of the teeth is very common, you need not to worry about this.
Once the permanent set of teeth is errupted and malalignement is present you can take your child to an Orthodontist and get an checkup done.
Maintain a good oral hygiene.
If there are any other problems you can take your child to the Dentist and get an checkup done.

Hope this helps out,

Regards...

Pediatrician Dr. Y V Siva Sankara Murty's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.
I can understand your concern.

Do not worry about that at all now.
Be careful when cleaning because food can get stuck between those teeth causing problems.
When all the permanent teeth appear consult your dentist once.

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
