Toddler With Severe Muscle Spasms In Legs And Painful Abdomen. What Could This Be?

My daughter has been having muscle spasms in her legs for a few weeks now. She just turned 3. She lays on floor legs jerking and the muscles are extremely tight. Last day or so she also has been saying her tummy hurts. Still waiting for her health insurance but wondering if I should take her to ER as it seems to be getting worse.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
Leg cramps are common at growing age and they occur during night when the child goes for sleep.
These are managed by massaging and analgesics like paracetamol or ibuprofen.
Investigate her with serum electrolytes, and calcium to look for any deficiency.
Consult the doctor for physical examination.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
