Toes, Side Of Foot Turning Black After Dropping Hammer On Foot. No Pain. Suggestions?
I dropped a 3lb sludge hammer on my foot 3 days ago. I had a cloth type sneaker on at the time. This caused a bruise on top of my foot between my toes and ankle. I put ice on it as soon as I could, then soaked my foot in warm water and Epsom salt. The bruise on the top of my foot to go away, but it is still a little swollen, Now 2 of my toes are turning black and the side of my foot is turning black at 2 of my toes and also at the side which is starting to go up my ankle and spreading up my ankle. I have no pain at all. Thank You Thomas Hlasney
Based on your description, I suspect that you have developed a vascular compromise (loss of blood supply) to the involved toes. If you don't feel any sensations in the toes like touch or pain, then its an emergency.
I suggest you to immediately seek medical attention for an evaluation and further management.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
