Tongue Hurts In A Child. What Are White Patches On Tongue Tip? What Can Help?

Hello, my name is Donna Hickman and for the last past week my 8 yr old son has been complaining about his tongue is hurting. He has a couple of white patches at the tip of his tongue and he says it hurts really bad that it has him in tears at night and he cant hardly sleep. Could you please help me out and letting me know what I.can do to.help ease his pain. Thanks, sincerely a concerned mom

Hi.I would also like to know if your kid has fever, cold sore etc.I suggest to get a pediatrician's opinion.This can also be due to other infections like chicken pox, thrush or viral infection (coxsackie virus) & other dental conditions which have to be ruled out.Hope this helps.Take care.
