Tongue Swelled, Blood Blister, No Pain. What This Could Be?
2 weeks ago my tongue swelled on one side to about twice its size. This happened suddenly over a 30 minute period. No pain. It went back to normal overnight. Several days later the symptom was repeated but not as severe. No pain. 3 days ago it felt a little less than normal and I looked to see no swelling, but a red spot that looked like a blood blister and the tongue was a bit dark around it. It seems to be all over with now except for a bit of discomfort in my glands. *might not be related. Any ideas? Just a week before. I had started an over the counter herbal supplement to help with low thyroid .

Hello, Thanks for writing to us. Blisters on tongue may be due to aphthous stomatitis. I would advice you to apply topical steroid on the affected area. Avoid spicy, acidic foods. Maintain oral hygiene well. Tobacco or pan chewing has to be discontinued. Plenty of fruits as well as nutritional supplements like vitamin b complex as nd iron supplements has to be administered.
