Tonsil Issues, Advised To Remove It, Any Suggestions?

I play Clarinet and have recently had some serious tonsil issues. I ve been recommended to have them removed, but I m nervous about how it will affect my playing until I graduate college, since it is a scholarship. Do you know how it will affect me or if there are any ways to keep it from returning. This is the third time I ve had them get tonsil stones and be extremely sore in the past 4 months.
