Tonsil Swollen, Hard To Swallow, Ear Pain. Strep Test Negative. Taken Amoxicillin. Any Treatment?

Left tonsil extremely swollen. Although there is not much pain, it's somewhat hard to swallow. Strep test negative. I have taken a 10-day course of amoxycillin and symptoms subsided for a few days only to return 3-4 days after finishing the prescription. Right tonsil's slightly swollen and has tonsil stones however nothing like left tonsil. Slight ear ache in left ear, assuming that is due to the swelling of my left tonsil. Leaving for military training in 10 days need help!!
