Took Cymbalta For Anxiety, Frequent Urination During Night, Cannot Sleep Through The Night. What Is It ?
This is a positive question and a wonderful side effect from taking Cymbalta for 6 months. I am 56/F that was taking this for anxiety and pain. I acquired wonderful relief. Before taking Cymbalta I was getting up more and more to use the bathroom during the night. After a month of taking Cym. I noticed that I wasn't using the bathroom as much during the night???? After about 3 months I felt like I had the bladder of elephant!!! Not getting up at all was a major event in my ever-aging body. This was two years ago. I can still sleep throughout the night. That short 6 months of using Cymbalta turned my nights back to REM sleep again. Have you heard of this in other patients???
Nice to know that Cymbalta brought you so much relief. The reduction in frequency of urination that you experienced is a well known effect of Cymbalta and it is often used for treatment of stressurinary incontinence in women. The mechanism of action has also been elucidated. In some patients, this effect of Cymbalta has led to urinary retention and they have had to discontinue Cymbalta because of this.
Best wishes.
