Took Medication For Fibroids. No Periods Upon Stopped Taking. Headaches. Weight Loss. Need To Be Worried?

I'm 51, stopped the pill in January, was on it for fibroids for years. Since then have no periods, have lost 13 lbs, 153 to 139, I'm 5'8". Although I am watching carbs but not exercising. No menopausal symptoms, but my complexion has cleared and the headaches during my period have gone. I worry about the weight loss, is it the lack of the pill or the carbs. Never lost weight this easily.always thought menopause meant weight gain. I feel fine otherwise.

Hi,
Thanks for the query.

The possible causes for your amenorrhea are:
-Menopause
-After stopping the pills it will take some time for regularization of the periods.
-Changes in the weight can affect the hormonal levels and thereby menstrual periods.
So you once go for hormonal profile including FSH, estrogen, progesterone etc.
By this the possibility of menopause can be ruled out and treatment can be taken if necessary.
