Took Pill After Unprotected Sex. Contraceptive To Be Reinjected. Pressure On Abdomen, Uterus Sagging. Side Effects?

Hi I am 19yrs old and on the 15th March 2013 I got a injectable contraceptive which lasted for 12weeks, I was supposed to go back and get the shot again on the 7th June but I didn't bcoz it gave me bad mood swings, 3days later I had unprotected sex but took the morning after pill within 17hours, I took a PT after 3weeks and it came out negative ...... For the past 2weeks I have been feeling pressure in my lower abdomen it felt as though my uterus was saggin and I felt a certain lump just near my pelvic bone I guess, I also have not had a period ever since I took the contraceptive so I would like to ask if mayb I am just experiencing after effects or if it is a different case
Tnx

Hello ma'am.

Taking the pill within 24 hours after unprotected intercourse provides 95 % prevention of pregnancy, and as you have taken the pregnancy test with an appropriate gsp, I think we can rule out pregnancy.

Contraceptives in all forms can ause menstrual irregularities and this could be the cause for your presentation. The only presentstion that worries me is the lump you have mentioned which could be the sign of an infection, if it is in the region described. Your symptoms could be due to some underlying condition and I would recommend a visit to your doctor to be on the safer side. In the meantime, please do abstain from all forms of sexual contact till your doctor deems it safe.

Take care.
