Took Suboxone. Should I Wait For Six Months For Alcohol Consumption?

I stopped suboxone 2 months ago..my Family doctor said I could have a drink or two but the pharmacist said if I was on suboxone for 6 months I have to wait 6 months before alcohol consumption because it is stored in fat cells. Please help..there is a limited audience in my area that is familiar with this drug and I can't seem to get a straight answer

Suboxone is a combination of buprenorphine & naloxone. Technically both of these drugs do not cause any adverse drug reaction after alcohol consumption like disulfiram does. But I would like to know why you were prescribed suboxone in first place? Also as we all know, alcohol consumption beyond a certain limit is injurious to health. Hence, kindly weigh the pros & cons of this situation & decide on alcohol consumption. Good luck
