Tot Has Not Taken Immunization As Per Schedule, Has Continuous Fever, Treated With ADOL. Advice?
Hi, My child is one year and two months old. Her vaccinations are not done since being one year due to us shifting over. Now she is having temp upto 38C since three days. Initially it started from 37 and gets at 38.5 in night. I am giving her ADOL ( paracetamol drops) 4.5 ml every 6 hours. Appreciate your advice. Regards, Saadia
Hi
What are the other symptoms she has?
Cold, cough, vomiting, loose stools, urinary problems?
Paracetamol is a symptomatic medicine that just brings down the temperature and gives comfort to the child. For simple viral fevers, paracetamol alone would be enough.
If symptoms and examination findings are suggestive of a bacterial infection, antibiotics will be needed accordingly.
Along with fever if activity of the child and feeding are not good, it is a must to see a pediatrician as its already 3 days of fever now.
Hope my answer helps you!
