Trans Vaginal Ultrasound Done. What Does Results Suggest? Endometrium Cancer?
Hi,
I had a transvaginal ultrasound. Right ovary shows a 2.0x1.9cm unruptured follicle. I have abnormal period history and this is what the u/s says a about uterus: wide and echogenic thickness of 1.5cm with multiple cystic spaces, most likely due to endometrial hyperplasia. I am booked for next week but at my wit's end and worried. Could I be having endometrium cancer? I am ttc since the past 2 years. Had a m/c and D&E last year in may.
Endometrial hyperplasia is the proliferation of endometrial tissues in response to excess estrogen and insufficient progesterone and it is the risk factor for cancer.
It is of two types .Atypical hyperplasia is the cause of concern and it has greater chances of conversion to cancer. Whereas few chances of conversion is possible in simple one.
Treatment choices are hormonal therapy and surgical depending upon the patients.
Take care
