As per the description, either you could have sustained
soft tissue injury or a
fracture. Bones in the hand (metacarpals & phalanges) are fragile in nature and tend to get fractured even with minor injuries.
If you are able to move all the fingers normally, If there is no visible
deformity or any abnormal mobility in the involved fingers, then a major fracture can be ruled out.
You need to have xrays to diagnose a fracture.
Initial management is as follows -
* rest to the local part
* elevation of the hand with active finger movements to resolve edema
* ice compressions
*
analgesic and antiinflammatory medicines
* elastic compression bandage over the wrist
