Treatment For Leg Pain Despite Taking Gabapentin?

I m a diabetic and have (severe) peripheral neuropathy in my legs and feet. I m currently taking Gabapentin and 10-325 oxy-codone. I m 65 years old and I contracted diabetes with the neuropathy at 55. On a pain scale of 1 thru 5, I m at a constant 3., for 10 years I don t know what its like to be at 1 and there are times I ll hit 5 even with this medication. I can only wish my doctor would know what this type of pain is like. I m in control with my blood glucose and my A1C is checked every 3-5 months, averaging 6.5 to 6.8. My doctor doesn t want to go higher than 10mg on the oxy but I m insisting that I do. At what increments (dosage) is available in this med..or better yet, what would you do if you were my doctor? always in pain, Dave
