Trying To Conceive. Had Fibroid. Have Bleeding, Short Cycles. Done Scan. Explain?
hey doc, am a worried mother in waiting, i have been having a problem with my periods which started by getting a bloody discharge around my mid cycle i .e 14 th day or thereabt...this then went on to bleeding thus getting very short cycles which would re start around the 14th day too.that has now been happening for around three years now and i have been seeking treatment.. i was done a scan and told that i had a fibroid abt 3cm in diameter which was removed through a lap and some bilateral ovarian cysts that too were removed during the removal of the fib.that was on 8th of jan this year and the bleeding has not stopped coming twice per month. and is still very prolonged.
i have also been trying to conceive for atleast two years unsuccessfully. Please give me some advice and especially on how i can improve my conception chances. Thank you doc.
Dear user, welcome to healthcare magic. The fibroid and ovarian cysts are not the cause of you not getting pregnant. Definitely you have a disturbance in you hormonal function which makes your cycles frequent, and makes a defect in your ovulation. First of all your husband must have a recent evaluation of his semen. Then you should have this blood test done at second day menstruetion: FSH, LH, TSH, E2 and prolactin. From these results we can put you a plan of treatment. Good luck. Dr. Ahmed Bahaa.
