Trying To Conceive. Semen Analysis Test, Shows Total Sperm Count, Motile Sperm, Positive Fructose Test. Meaning?
hi, I have recently done a Semen Analysis and this is the result: Liquification Time: 45 mins Total Sperm Count : 25 mn/ml Actively Motile: 70% Sluggishly Motile: 10% Non Motile: 20% Abnormal Forms: 10% Normal Forms: 90% Fructose Test: Positive Please help me to understand whether this is good to have a baby of our own.
Hi, Welcome to HCM, I am Dr. Das
First of all, the liquefaction time is within normal limit, Per ml sperm count is within normal limit, Motility of the sperm, which is crucial for fertility is also within normal limit ( normal active sperm is >50% WHO 1999). The percantage of normal forms is within normal limit. Positive fructose test indicates presence of fructose in semen which is also a good point.
So, overall the report is quite normal . And it is enough to have a baby of your own.
First of all, the analysis shows a normal result.
The normal sperm count is 20-160 million. Yours is 25 million. though on the lower side of normal, still only one actively motile normal sperm is needed to conceive.
You have quite a good number of normal forms (90%).
So, please dont worry about the conceiving and go ahead.
Hello,
History noted. Your report is within normal limits. The sperm counts are on the lower side in the normal limit range. It is nothing to worry about. My suggestion is to get medical assistance for a better result than waiting for natural conception. In this modern medicine era these sort of issues are handled with great success. Consult a gynecologist along with your wife, who will guide you with few medications and tell you about the days during which you both want to be in contact and other details for having your own baby. Even there is proved evidence that with a sperm count of 1 million per ml have fathered children. Hence consult your gynecologist soon. All the best.
Good day.
