Is it normal to have the following liver function test results when diagnosed with tuberculosis - currently using Rifafour for two weeks:
ALT - 9

TOTAL PROTEIN - 56
Albumin - 26
Gamma GT - 60
ALKALINE PHOSPHATE - 151
BILIRIUM TOTAL - 10

The following symptoms are experienced:
Nausea

Sleepiness

Had the TB abcess removed two weeks ago and suffer from oxygen saturation levels of
80-90% causing an increased heart rate-never lower than 90

I crave eating crushed ice and tomato sauce
My mouth tastes bitter all the time-food does not tasre pleasant
My skin smells aweful to myself

But the worts is being nausea all the time

Hope its just the TB

THE ANTI TB DRUGS ARE KNOWN TO CAUSE ELEVATED LIVER ENZYMES ESPECIALLY RIFAFOUR SINCE ITS CLEARANCE IS THROUGH THE BILIARY TRACT, CONSIDER THESE TESTS AS NORMAL.
ALSO ALL THE ANTI TB DRUGS CAUSE GASTRITIS WHICH CAUSE NAUSEA, VOMITING, RETCHING, WATER BRASHING AND BITTER TASTE. TRY TAKING AN ANTACID BEFORE MEALS TO NEUTRALISE THE ACID. SHIFT OVER TO SMALL MULTIPLE MEAL PATTERN RATHER THAN 3 BIG MEALS AND AVOID SPICY AND CITRUS FOOD/DRINKS.
