Tubes Tied, Ablation Done. Having 17 Day Cycle. Period Missed, Pregnancy Test Negative. Check Up Required?
I am 39 years old. I had my tubes tied 14 years ago when I had my daughter. I had and ablation done 3-4 years ago. I had the ablation because I had heavy periods. My cycle was 21 day cycle before the ablation. Since I had it done, I have been on a 17 day cycle. YES my cycle was coming on every 17 days and lasting 7-8 days at a time but it was not heavy. I had my cycle last month and it only lasted 5 days. It comes without fail every month. I have yet to have it this month. I'm going on 8 days late. Never had any drastic changes like that with my cycle unless I was pregnant. I have done a pregnancy test and it came back negative. Should I go to my OBGYN or should I wait another month or 2 to see if it is my body changing?
Hi, I would suggest a complete physical evaluation by a gynecologist to assess the current hormonal status as well as to rule out pregnancy. It is more likely that you could be entering early peri-menopause owing to the ablation. If pregnancy can be excluded, you can wait for your next cycle to onset naturally. Please maintain a healthy body weight and do some regular daily exercise. This will help in maintaining a stable hormonal balance in the body. Hope your query is answered. Take care.
