Hello
Thanks for the query.
There are many causes of recurrent abortions, and you should get investigated accordingly, and treated too.
Most common cause is chromosomal anomalies - you should have the chromosomal testing of previous abortion tissue, and if not done, then get your couple karyotype.
Also, tests for immune causes - for antiphospholipid antibody syndrome - are important. They include a battery of tests such as antibodies to antiphospholipids, coagulation tests etc.
Uterine abnormalities have to be ruled out by ultrasound now, since she is pregnant, else a
hysteroscopy and
laparoscopy is ideal. Sometimes, the mouth of the uterus ( cervix ) is loose, hence that needs to be seen in ultrasound
ALso, some infections are implicated - such as
toxoplasmosis, rubella, herpes etc, tests for those need to be done.
Basic investigations such as blood grouping, viral markers. thyroid tests, blood sugar testing, testing for
thalassemia, urine tests should be done.
Appropriate pregnancy support, as prescribed by your gynecologist should be taken, particularly progesterone support, if
progesterone deficiency is suspected as a cause.
Go for regular antenatal check ups, have regular scans, take all prescribed medication, have enough rest, avoid stress.
Take care.
