Typhoid, Ulcers, Blood Transfusions, Pain In Stomach, Weakness For Long Time. How Long Will It Take To Recover?

my sister has just had Typhoid in Indonesia but got treatment quite late and was in hospital for 2 weeks with Ulcers and two blood transfusions. She s been discharged now but is still in a lot of paid in her stomach and feeling weak. It s been almost 4 weeks now since she first got sick. Is this normal and how long is the recovery?

Typhoid recovery depends on how severe it was. It sounds like this was pretty serious infection with blood loss and recovery will be prolonged even up to 2 months. She just need to prevent dehydratation by enough fluid intake,rest and eat easier food. If her pain progress,she should do extensive gastroenterologic work up to evaluate colon mucosa.
