US Renal Sonogram Done. What Does Findings Suggest?
Should there be concern when US Renal Sonogram is performed and findings are: 1.8 cm right lower pole parapelvic cyst.
Also a KUM Xray was performed and findings are: 0.4 cm calcification in the projection of the right UVJ, possibly a urinary stone or venous phlebolith.--a CT for definitive assessment was suggested. Thank you.
Hi, many thanks for the query! You haven't mentioned about any of your symptoms.. You need to do- Urine (R/M), RFT, Sr. Uric acid, CBC, Blood Sugar Level. Till then take antispasmodics, diuretics with your doctor's opinion. Drink plenty of water so that at least 2 litres of urine is voided in 24 hrs. Wish you a good health. Take care. Regards.
Concerning your renal sonogram, there is a cyst in lower pole region of your right kidney measuring 1.8cms in size. This might indicate a simple cyst. You may get another ultrasound done after 6 months to look for any increase in size of the cyst.
Coming to the KUB X ray, the small calcification in the pelvis cannot be either a calcification in the veins (phlebolith) or one in the end of the right ureter. If your right kidney does not show hydronephrosis or pelvicalyceal dilatation, then its more likely present in the vein (common finding in middle age).
Hope it helps.
