US Shows Mild Posterocentralbulge Which Indent The Cal Sac Without Any Neutral Compression, Disc Protrusions. Cause?
Conclusion,L3-4 shows mild posterocentralbulge which indent the cal sac without causing any neutral compression.A broad based posterocentral focal disc protrusions seen at L4-5 level which indents the anterior aspect of thecal sac and nerve roots within it,particularly the L-5 traversing nerve roots. Bilateral forminal bulge of the disc is seen abutting the L4 exiting nerve roots in the neutral foramina without causing compression
If this is all found in US (ultrasound) I assume that these are the findings of a fetus. In fetus, all these changes might be the result of any type of neural tube defect. The most common cause of neural tube defects is folic acid deficiency.
If this all by any chance is found in an adult (although I do not understand how ultrasound can detect all these changes in adult), this might be due to several causes. One of the most common causes is degenerative disk disease which is a multi-factorial entity (i.e. it includes multiple factors). These factors include, but are not limited to, age, diet, type of work, presence or absence of appropriate ergonomics etc.
Hope it was clear enough.
Kind Regards,
