Ultrasonography Shows Thick Endometrium. Why Having Spottings Instead Of Proper Menstrual Cycle?
Hi, I am 29 and I have never been pregnant. I have had an ultrasonography recently and they discovered that I have an endometrium thickness of 19,2 mm. The doctor said this can be endometrial hyperplasia. I have had regular menstrual cycles so far, the last being on the 17th November. Then on the 5th of December I had some dark-brown even black spots that lasted for 5-6 days. After 10 days, I began having by 1-2 drops of blood each day. now they stopped, but my menstrual cycle hasn't come yet. What might my problem be?
I am so sorry to hear about this very thick endometrium. It is concerning and I will suggest that you follow up with your doctor to get this check out. It would be expected that if the menses are not flowing normally, then the endometrial lining that should have normally been shed off would be thickened and present thus on an ultrasound.
A thorough interview and investigations would be able to address this.
