Ultrasound After Miscarriage Showing Fluid Around The Adnexa. Need D&C?
Hi, I had a miscarriage of twins on April 6 and an ultrasound to see if there were any retained products of conception on April 11. The results noted There is fluid along with a more isoechoic solid component seen within the endometrial canal as described above. The radiologist did not have measurements for this solid component as it was not that clear in the ultrasound. Small amount of fluid around the right adnexa is seen. Multiple follicles are seen in both adnexa.
Do u recommend a d and c or waiting until my first menstrual cycle followed by an ultrasound?
Hi, You should correlate the songram findings with the clinical picture and follow the advice of your consultant. If there is no bleeding, pain or any sign of infection, the abortion is most likely to be complete. If there is persistent bleeding along with/without pain and signs of infection, it is essential that intervention is done under proper antibiotic care. Another trans-vaginal sonogram after a few days could confirm/exclude retained products. Hope you find this information useful. Good luck.
