Ultrasound Of Liver Done. Are The Findings In Normal Range?

I just recieved my ultrasound of my liver and these are the results, what is this telling me?

Abdominal ultrasound 11/7/2013.

Clinical history: elevated liver function test.

Impressions:

1. Liver parenchyma echogenicity is increased, consistent with fatty

infiltration and/or hepatocellular disease. No intra or extrahepatic biliary

ductal dilatation. The common hepatic duct measures 3 mm which is normal.

2. The gallbladder is normal. No evidence of gallstones

3. No hydronephrosis. Renal length is 11.3 cm on the right and 13.0 cm on the

left. There is a 6 mm echogenic focus in the left kidney without acoustical

shadowing that may represent a nonobstructing small left renal calculus. No

contour deforming mass.

4. Normal appearance of the visualized portion of pancreas. The spleen has

normal size, measuring 12 cm.

5. No free fluid in the upper abdomen. Upper abdominal aorta shows no evidence

of aneurysmal dilatation.

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

Your report suggests that you have fatty liver due to deposition of excess fat in liver cells. This is reversible condition. You should increase your physical activity and may need medicines also .You should consult your physician. You also need other investigations like Lipid profile.
You have also small 6 mm left renal calculus.
Other findings are within normal limit.
Get well soon.

Take Care
