Ultrasound Reveals Anteverted Uterus And Varying Endometrium Thickness. What Do The Findings Mean And Treatment?
my wife's latest ultrasound shows her anteverted uterus measuring 10.9*6.6 cm. The endometrium has varied echogenicity and is 4 cm thick. She is following treatment for the the last two years at P.G.I. Chandigarh, India. The doctors are still not willing to undertake hysterectomy. What is the extent of problem? Should we go for hysterectomy now? Kindly advice
I am so sorry to hear about these ultarsound findings. What is she being treated for and what is her age? has she undergone any biopysy? How many children is she having and are there any future plans of having children? These are all answers we should get before we make such a decision. My suggestion is that you ask the doctors what the problem is and why they would not want to consider hysterectomy. If you can use the premium service which allows for follow up interaction, I will take a closer look at reports and her detailed history and give an opinion about this.
In any case, she needs to be evaluated fully and the possibility of endometrial cancer excluded seen this very thick and irregular endometrium. You may also want to switch doctors and get a second opinion from another doctror.
I hope you find this helpful. Thank you so much for using our services and please do feel free to ask for more information if need be. I wish you the best of health. Dr. Ditah, MD
