Ultrasound Said One Ovary Bigger Than The Other, Have Pelvic Pain, Been Spotting. Suggestion?

I had an ultrasound done and my left ovary is bigger than usual according to the technician and when I got home I looked at the pictures and it shows a big white spot on the middle of it. I have pelvic pain around time of ovulation and during my period and spotting. What could the white spot be? I don t get to see my doctor till next week and I m worried. :(

Hi,
It would need a sonologist to opine on the findings and it is difficult to say without even having a look at the pictures. It could be due to some calcified spot or mass and the exact cause can be noted only by clinical correlation. This could also be the cause of your pelvic pain. It could be a functional ovarian cyst or a dermoid cyst with calcified spots. Please get further suggestions from your doctor and please remember, treatment is available for either condition and there is absolutely no need to worry. Take care.
