Ultrasound Scan Report Shows Bulky Uterus, Endometrial Plate Thickened And Myometrium Expanded By Solid Tissue Mass. Meaning?
My ultrasound scan says the following; 1). Bulky uterus with an AP diameter of 11.2cm. The outline is irregular. The endometrial plate is thickened and echo genie 2) the myometrium expanded by solid tissue mass A - intramural in the anterior wall with an AP diameter of 7.4 cm B- sub serous in the fundal wall with an AP diameter of 5.6cm Both ovaries are normal in sizes and structure Adenauer are bilaterally free Pouch of Douglas is free No cyesis or retained products and no cyst
The interpretation of ultrasound of the pelvis is as follows:
1. The uterus is enlarged and there is increase in the size and dimensions of the uterus.
2. The lining of the uterus called the endometrial lining is also thickened. This thickening can occur in conditions like hyperplasia.
3. There are three masses in the wall of the uterus, called fibroids. Fibroids are benign growths of the muscle layer of the uterine wall.
Fibroids are asymptomatic in majority of cases.
Symptomatic cases can cause pain, menorrhagia, dysmenorrhea, etc. They need to be removed surgically.
Thanks and take care.
