Ultrasound Shows Hypoechoic Solid Appearing Nodule, Flattened In AP Direction, Surrounded By Fibroglandular Tissue. Breast Cancer?
Ultrasound result: At the 2 o clock position approximately 6 cm from the nipple , there is a hypoechoic solid-appearing nodule measuring 3x5x7 mm in diameter. Its echogenicity is similar to but slightly less than that of the glandular tissue . It is flattened in an AP direction. There is slight lobulation along the anterior margin, along with slight posterior shadowing. it is not vascular . It is surrounded by fibroglandular tissue. No other cystic or solid mass is seen nor is there ductal dilatation. Do I have cancer??????
Hi Ultrasound cannot confirm the diagnosis of breast cancer. It only gives an idea of any swelling in the breast and whether it is Solid or Cystic . So,a simple test called Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) of the swelling will confirm the diagnosis(OR) As the swelling is small, you can get it completely removed and send it for biopsy If you are young, chances of breast cancer are minimal. Get an FNAC/Biopsy and confirm the diagnosis. If you come back with FNAC/Biopsy report, i will clarify further Wish you good health Regards
