Ultrasound Shows Solid Painless Mass In Breast. Is It A Symptom Of Breast Cancer?
Hi, I am 35 and just did breast ultrasound last wekk. the report stated that i have an irregular heteregenous hypoechoic solid mass at 9 o'clocks on the right breast, measure 14mm x 5mm x 8mm. there is an enlarged right axillary lymph node with thickening of the cortex. the lump is painless. What is the percentage that it is benign? I am so scared that i could not sleep for the past few days. I have undergone biopsy but haven't received the result yet. Pleas help me. What is the chances? Is there any hope that it is not malignant? or is it confirm that i have breast cancer?
Hi A breast lump is a localized swelling, protuberance, bulge or bump in the breast that feels different from the breast tissue around it or the breast tissue in the same area of the other breast. The majority of breast lumps are not cancerous (benign), and can have various different causes, such as infection, trauma, fibroadenoma, cyst, or fibrocystic condition of the breast. Even so, a woman who detects a breast lump should have it evaluated as soon as possible. Anyway you have undergone biopsy and only biopsy report can confirm or refute malignancy. Hope this answers your query
