Umbilical Hernia, Vaginal Spotting. Surgery Scheduled. Spotting Cause Of Concern?

I have an umbilical hernia . It is aggravated and I was at the er just a few days ago with it. They are planning to do surgery on Thursday. This morning I noticed I am having vaginal spotting. My last period was about 2 weeks ago, maybe 3. I am 43 years old. My question is should I be worried bout the vagnial spotting or do I wait to see the Pictor?

Hello and welcome to HCM
As you have mentioned that your last period was 2-3 weeks prior, this spotting could be due to ovulation. You have to observe further whether the spotting increases or it ends.

There is no contraindication for the surgery.
The thing to be concerned is your hemoglobin and other blood parameters especially platelets and clotting time. Hemoglobin should be more than 11 gm% and platelet & clotting times should be within normal limits.
