Unable To Achieve Erection, Increased Precum After Taking Ziac For High BP. Recommendations?

Male friend was recently put on Ziac for high blood pressure. Almost immediately, he became unable to achieve an erection. He also has increased amounts of pre-cum. He is quite dejected about the whole situation, as he has been quite virile all his life till taking this medicine. What kind of hope does he have for regaining a normal sex life? He is 50, 5'8", about 200 lb.

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Erectile dysfunction can be a side effect of some blood pressure medications. There are some antihypertensives, however, that are not associated with this side effect.

He should consider speaking to his doctor, informing him or her of the problem he is facing. The medication can be changed to another one that he is better able to tolerate.

I hope this helps
