Unconscious After Blackout. Diagnosed As Severe Migraine, Taking Medication, Reappearing Even After Medication. Suggestions?
Hello Doctor, yesterday I fell unconscious suddenly after a blackout for few seconds and after few minutes only could realise what had happened. This is the second time happening like this. when it occurred for the first time consulted a neurologist and took a CT also. It was normal apart from some calcifications. He diagnosed it to be a severe migraine attack according to the symptoms and prescribed medicines for migraine. But within three weeks again the same thing happened. this vision blur, dizziness and back head terrible pain is still there.
After reading your post, it seems that you might have suffered from vasovagal attack. It occurs due to decreased blood supply to brain due to sudden fall in blood pressure.
I would suggest that you should get your blood pressure and pulse rate monitored.
Following investigations can be helpful :- 1. Hemoglobin levels. 2. Serum electrolytes. 3. Electrocardiography(ECG). 4. MRI of head and neck.
Keep yourself hydrated.
I hope this is helpful to you. Thanks.
