Under Doubtful Conditions Had Taken Emergency Pill. Seen Brownish Discharge. Side Effect Of Contraceptive?

My last period started on the 8th and was done by the 14th i had protected sex on the 19th but the condom came off, so i took the morning after emergency pill on the 20th and thereafter on the 29th i began experiencing some dark brownish discharge and it has been going on for 7 days now. It is very light and small in amount and is mixed with a little mucous. Could this be a side effect of unwanted 72 emergency contraceptive?

Hello

Emergency contraceptive pills as for every other medication have possible side effects. These may may not be there every time one takes them.

You took the pills in the first half of your cycle and it is a documented side effect for these pills to not only cause the brownish discharge but also bring the menstruation early on.

So although yes this is highly likely a side effect of the medication still it would be best to be examined by your doctor to be sure of it.
