I am a 17 year old male. I am slightly over 6 foot 1, and I weigh about 128 pounds. This would not be particularly severe if it were not so difficult even to maintain this weight. Daily, I tend to eat well over 2500 calories, and sometimes as much as 3500 or so. I try to eat many foods which are high in complex carbohydrates, lots of lean poultry (though I do not particularly avoid red meats), and I generally make a point of avoiding excessive sodium intake. Also, I tend to eat food in as many as 6-10 small meals throughout the day, as opposed to three large ones. I also drink at least 7 or 8 cups of water a day. Despite all of these efforts, as well as actually teaching myself to be able to eat this much food, and a lifestyle which is not particularly active, my weight has not increased very noticeably in the past few years. In fact, taking regular weight fluctuatons into account, my weight seems to still be gradually decreasing. Also, the energy I intake seems to burn away in an instant, regardless of what I do. This issue is beginning to have noticeable effects on my day to day life, and any insight as to potential alterations in diet or lifestyle is greatly appreciated.
