Urine VMA (ELISA): 0.35 Mg/g. What Does It Indicate ?
Hello...i have just now received my Urine VMA report and here is the result:
VMA Spot urine (ELISA): 0.35 mg/g creat
Can you please confirm what does it indicates. I have hypertension, my BP was in the range of 160/110. Doctor suggested various tests which were normal. Today only I received this test result and was wondering how it is before I show it to my physician in the evening..
Hi and thanks for using this panel. I am sorry about your high blood pressure.
This test actually checks if there is any tumour producing excess adrenergic hormones that can actually explain why you have have got hypertension. The normal values may vary from one laboratory to another. It is often associated with phaeochromocytoma which is possible ccause of secondary hypertension. It manifests with episodic hypertension crisis associated with headache, sweating and palpitations that resolve within a few minutes and all may return to normal. Check and see whether the value is normal per the laboratory or not and interprete accordingly taking into consideration your symptoms.
Hope it helps..Wish you a good health. feel free to come back
