Used Rusty Blade To Remove Cyst. Wound Not Infected. Taken Tetanus 10 Years Ago. Anything To Worry?
Hi, I used a blade to remove a cyst which I think may have been rusty. I cleaned the blade with alcohol before using it and I cleaned the wound. Should I be worried about Tetanus? The wound does not look infected and it is properly cleaned with alcohol and antibiotic ointment. No pain either. I believe My Tetanus shot is within ten years as I am now attending college full time. Thanks
I hope the thing which you cut was not herpes wart
Any how if you have used antibiotic creams and washed the rusted blade with alcohol , the chances are low to get tetanus , but still there are chances as you had last shot 10 years ago.
Final decision is get a shot , as antibiotics dont cover tetanus , which you applied
Hope this helps
