Using Grizzly Chewing Tobacco, Jaw Feels Tight, Aches In Jaw, On Going Off Tobacco Getting Headache. Is This Normal?
I am 23 years old. I have been using Grizzly Chewing tabacco for 4 solid months, everyday at least twice. My jaw feels slightly tight sometimes, very minor aches in my jaw only every now and then. Is this normal? I just quit tabacco as of yesterday I am experiencing major headaches but that is about it. Is the jaw something I should worry about or is it normal when going off of chewing tabbacco. I have only been chewing for 4 months.
Chewing tobacco is dangerous to health. First of all tobacco itself cause irritation in oral cavity and can cause chronic inflammation and even fibrosis in oral cavity also called as oral submucosal fibrosis. It consist of nicotine and it is a psychoactive substance. It can precipitate severe headache in susceptible individuals as withdrawal syndrome. You were chewing it for 4 months and you have become dependent on it. If you can bear the headaches then there is no need to take any other medicines. Simple OTC analgesic drug like paracetamol will help. It headache and anxiety persist then visit a psychiatrist. Nicotine replacement chewing gums are available and they prevent withdrawal syndrome. Try relaxation exercises to keep yourself relaxed.
Hope it helps you. Thanks
