Using Prednisone And Amoxicillin For Chronic Sinusitis. Could The Swollen Clitoris Be The Secondary Infection Of The Antibiotic?

I went to an ENT P.A. for chronic sinusitis. She put me on prednisone (my sinuses were very swollen), amoxicillin and saline nasal rinses twice a day. When I finished the prednisone, while still on the amoxicillin, I noticed I had a swollen clitoris (looks like an abscess now) and a sore and whitish coat on my tongue. I am 63 and have not had any sexual activity for 2 months. My former boyfriend did not have herpes. Seeing the ENT in a week.... could this be thrush or a secondary infection from being on an antibiotic. I have never had anything like this before.

I have gone through your query and after co-relating all about it appears that your sinus infection and it's treatment by amoxycillin and steroids is not concerned with infection and swelling of clitoris.

You are the age of 63 years therefore you should investigate yourself for diabetes because if diabetes is detected than possibility of flair of infection by steroid may be consider.

You may take now-

1- Antibiotic (preferably broad spectrum)

2- Anti inflammatory.

3- Antiseptic + antifungal cream on clitoris.

Please wait for observing effect , if response is not satisfactory than consult your family physician.
