Using Insulin. Developed Temperatures At Night, hives, Reddish Marks On Face, Eyes Are Swollen. Related To Insulin?
Yes, I have been using insulin for almost 1 year and 9 months now with 15 units per shot. I was working under the sun the other day and I noticed that I developed temperatures at night for the last 2 nights and now it turns out I have hives. My whole upper torso, front and back have that reddish marks like prickles and including my face. My eyes swollen and my face turn red. Could you tell me if this is due to insulin reaction or what? Two years ago, I had the same experience, due to a reaction of my other medication to Atelenol so I told my doctor and we stop the other medication.
Hello there! thank you for asking. You have been using insulin for almost 2 years. had it been insulin it would have been day one. You mentioned working under the sun,. It can be solar urticaria. Explains the symptoms. Get some anti histamines,. Some Antidepressants like Doxepins it has tripple effect, works like charm in solar urticaria. ANd if the problem persist see the dermatologist to rule out the etiologies. It is allergic reaction and hypersensitivity could be cacause of any allergen but not insulin in your case.
