Uterine Fibroid, Tumor, Vaginal Bleeding, Weakness, Dizziness, Migraines. Prescribed Junel. Is This Normal?

I have been prescribe junel from my obg/yn. The primary reason is due to finding a uterine fibroid. I was told that this medicine would be good to shrink the tumor. I've been on it fo almost 3 months. The 1st month, all appeared normal, no changes. The 2nd month, I saw a change in my appetite and no period. AS of 10/3/13, I've been experiencing vaginal bleeding, clotting, vaginal cramps, migraines, weakness, dizziness. Most importantly, the bleeding gets worse each day. I've literally been bleeding for 28 days straight. I decided to stop taking the pill as this Monday. Is this "normal"?

hi and thanks for the query,
If you experience such symptoms, it means the drug is not very much effective in your case. Depending on the size of the fibroids and other specifics of persons, the drug might not work properly. Persistence of the bleeding or aggravation calls for a reevaluation and brainstorming on other treatment options. I suggest you book an appointment with your doctor for a new ultrasound and possibilities of surgically removing the fibroids. Kind regards
