Vaginal Area Shaving Led To Itchy Bumps. Does Mupirocin Go On The Wet Inner Labia Too?

Hi, My 16 year old daughter shaved her vaginal area last year and came down with itchy bumps on her vag and swollen labia with bumps too. her doctor prescribed mupirocin. She has done it again. Since it is hot and she is an athlete, it only exacerbates the problem. Does the mupirocin go on the wet inner labia too? Is there anything we can do to speed up recovery?

Hi, Nulfam,
Thanks for query.
It seems that your daughter is having infection of hair follicle giving rise to this problem.
Continue to use Mupirocon, it will work inside the vagina as well.
Give her antihistamine like Cetrizine for itching as and when required.
If require go for antibiotic medicine after consulting your doctor.
ok and bye.
