Varicose Veins During Pregnancy, Becoming Bigger, Denser. Looks Like Purple Bruise. Are They Spider Veins?

I am 28 weeks pregnant and have some varicose veins in my right leg (only). Did not have them before pregnancy. I did have some spider veins before and the small patch I had on my right knee has become a lot bigger and denser over the last few months. It looks very much like a big purple bruise when I stand up and fades away, almost disappears when I put my leg up. it also feels very warm to the touch and aslo cools down when I put my legs up. Are they regular spider veins or something more serious? Thanks in advance.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The spider veins that you have can get aggravated during pregnancy due to venous blood flow reduction. Since there are associated bruises also, it is best to get these examined by your gynecologist and use a pressure stocking if needed.
