Viral Infection In Mouth, Swollen Gums, Bleeding, No Fever

Hi, I have a question about my 2 year old son who has a viral infection in his mouth . He has swollen gums that are bleeding at least once a day for the past 3 days. We went to see a children dentist yesterday and she sais it should go away by itself, but I m still concerned about ma baby health. Is there any kind of medicine or remedy that could help? He doesn t have a fever. Thank You

Hello and welcome to hcm forum,
Your baby may be asthmatic/immunologically compromised ,causing swelling of gums.
I would suggest to give water and plenty of fluids .
Taken vitamin supplements if required.
Also rule out chance of any other malignancy underlying.
Rinse your baby's mouth after every meals.
Vitamin-c rich fruits and leafy vegetables can be given to your baby.
Also get complete blood examination done.
Take care.

hello
bleeding in gums from a child of age 2 years may be due various reasons including poor oral hygiene , asthama , immunological deficiency ,vitamin deficiency etc etc
since you have had his examination done by a dentist
so now what i would suggest is that you get a complete blood examination done to reule out other possibilities
in the mean while you can do following
1.help your son rinse his mouth with luke warm saline rinse after every meal
2.vitamin c supplements or fruits rich in vitamin c or some lemon water
3.lactovit capsule or lactovit powder mixed in water ,once a day for atleast 10 days a month and continue that for 6 months
4.for immediate relief you can use gum astringents like fitgum oracep ,take a drop of astringent on your index finger and gentally massage it on your sons gum, this can be done 3-4 times daily
hope this helps
