OBGYN 's  Response
Hi,
The uterus is enlarged, bulky as it is called, endometrial lining is normal (thickness depends on the stage of the menstrual cycle) and the uterus has a fibroid in the posterior wall. A fibroid is a benign tumor of the uterus that may or may not be associated with symptoms depending on the location and size and the menstrual phase; it can be managed medically as well as surgically. There is a cyst in the right ovary, probably functional, based on the size. Functional cysts usually regress spontaneously and a follow up sonogram is essential to see their progress. You should ask your gynecologist to correlate these findings with your clinical exam. Good luck.
