Was Diagnosed With Mitral Valve Murmur, Has Fibromylgia, Tricuspid Regurgitation. What Does This Mean?

My fifty year old daughter was diagnosed with a mitral valve murmur at four years of age. She was treated with antibiotics until she was sixteen. She currently has fibromyalgia and is now diagnosed with mitral valve regurgitation as well as some tricuspid regurgitation. She has no symptoms and is told that she has a very strong heart . What do you think she will have to do about these conditions? MS

Dear friend, welcome to HCM.
That she has lived well all these years and with a strong pumping heart (not failing), she has no immediate worries.
The regurgitations (backward leaks) across mitral and tricuspid valves are probably old causing the same murmur.
So nothing active is to be done.
Only she should neglect any fevers, infections and keep regular medical checks, as such leaky valves can sometimes get clots which get infected (infective endocarditis).

Associated fibromyalgia needs treatment on its own merits.
Hope this helps.
would like to help if you have any more queries.

Take care.
