Weakness, Irregular Heart Beats, Nausea, Dizziness. Causes For Symptoms?

I m 17, athlete, 5 7, 127 pounds. But lately I have felt very weak, my heart beats funny, fast or slow, and my stomach has felt a little sick, I sometimes felt dizzy too but not very often. The flu is going around so I didn t know if that could be part of the problem. My mom also has medical problems. Could you help as to what it is?

Let me tell you that a given medical problem can be due to various causes and the primary aim of the attending doctor is to find out the exact cause and deal with it accordingly rather than simple assumption in the modern era of medicine.
Similarly the causes of dizziness are many. For example some can become dizzy with heart problem, some body can be with neurological problem and even some body can be dizzy after diarrhea. In addition there are other causes too.
Back to your problem, the symptoms that you have, i mean the irregular hear beat, particularly slow as well as very fast heart rate can make you dizzy and weak. The simplest test which will identify this problem is ECG. It will tell is it faster than normal or slower than normal and we can deal accordingly. All the symptoms that you have described, particularly when you tell that flu is going on, some viral infection can also have the similar presentation. Another cause for all your symptoms could be thyroid problem. I strongly advise you to go for an urgent check up with a physician who will approach the way i have described. How ever you donot have to worry. Your problems need urgent medical attention
